Synopsis: Dan Douglas is the number one sex expert in the whole city, and making more money than he can imagine. After his brother dies, he must go to his funeral on the other side of the country. However he can't just miss work, or else someone might sneak in and take his title as number one. That is why Dan relies on his best friend Patrick Dillon to take over his job while he is away. Patrick, however, doesn't know the first thing about sex and is a virgin. He is also trying to start a relationship with his next door neighbor, and fears that if she was to find out he was a sex expert she will be disgusted by him. Despite all his fears and concerns, he is still convinced that this will be the best job ever, but soon finds out that this will not be an easy feat as he meets different couples with different problems. The Doves: Bill and Michelle Dove live a happy life, but bad sex life. The problem is that Bill always thinks of guys when their making love, and Michelle is always thinking about girls when they are making love. But they both know they are not gay.The Broncos: Sharon and Bob Bronco are like every other married couple. They have no sex life. The problem is that Sharon can only truly be turned on when using food for foreplay, but Bob always falls asleep after eating, no matter what the situation. The Talls: Sherry and Marvin Tall are a couple of freaks in the bed. They both like using sex toys. However Sherry can only get turned on with playful toys, while Marvin needs toys that cause pain to get turned on.The Moonbergs: Donna and Francis actually have a healthy sex life. But they both have different wishes on how to expand their horizons. Donna wants to have a threesome involving two guys, while Francis wants to have a threesome involving two girls.Patrick meets these various couples, and tries to help each one of them to the best of his ability, which in this case is very limited. However he learns more about himself in the process that can help him with starting a relationship with Carla.

What the Press would say:
Judd Apatow strikes gold once more, with his hilarious new picture, "Sex Advice". The film is about a virgin becoming a sex specialist and giving the couples he meets bogus advice which leads to hilarious outcomes, but with the lead and the couples learning more about themselves than they had previously known. Just like "The 40 year old Virgin" and "Knocked Up", the comedy in the film isn't over the top and is not stupid. The humor is a combination of real emotions, and just regular fun. This type of humor gives a more "real" feel to the movie and not just some "crazy situation" feel like most slacker movies have. Apatow has an amazing cast for this film, teaming hilarious known actors with relatively unknown actors that are very hilarious as well. The teaming of these actors result in comedic moments that will quickly be known as some of the most hilarious scenes in movie history. One couple that really got me in tears of laughter was the Paul Rudd and Sarah Silverman couple. Their scenes together will sure to have even the grumpiest of people laughing out their popcorn as a result of the couples' hilarious dialogue and situations. Rainn Wilson does a tremendous job as the lead, taking some of the aspects of his role in "The Office" but overall creating a new type of character that is fresh and as remarkable as Steve Carell in "The 40 Year Old Virgin", or Seth Rogen in "Knocked Up". As far as awards go, the academy is known for not awarding comedies, but this is one of the funniest films of the decade, with smart humor and a theme with good intentions, I expect the academy will make a much needed exception to Sex Advice
